Welcome to Dr. Yoon's KoreanLanguage Resource website. The purpose of this site is to help you learn Korean to your potential by putting you in touch with a variety of on-line resources to help you improve your Korean skills, complete projects and set tasks, and find extra information on Korea and the Korean language. These resources are designed to assist both instructors and students of Korean. This site features links to a variety of authentic materials, including cultural, linguistic, and current media.

What you've discovered is that Korean is an amazingly complex language, with many levels of usage. It's a language where proper textbook grammar for beginners is rarely heard outside of tourist situations. It's a language that utilizes four different writing systems, dependent on the context. It's a language with varied hidden levels dependent on social situations, time of year, and physical location.

The sites followed by an asterisk (*) require a Korean font to be installed on your computer for viewing in Korean.

Unicode fonts can be installed from Microsoft Office or NT/2000 CD-ROMs or downloaded free from the Monash archive. Microsoft also give away their Global IME which enables input as well as viewing in certain applications. Fontboard has lots of useful information about using Korean with English Windows.

If you know of any sites that would make suitable additions, or have any suggestions or comments, please write to me and share your thoughts and opinions. Feel free to respond to my e-mail address: yoon_@learn-korean.info. I appreciate your feedback and will respond to it as soon as possible.

Thanks again for visiting my website, and remember to use your time wisely.
